Space Elevator 101 Sessions - Saturday, August 14, 2010
Sponsored by Leeward Space Foundation
Come attend one of the two Space Elevator 101 sessions on Saturday, August 14, 2010. These sessions are more in depth than the public presentation the evening of Thursday August 12th, but are not as technical as the three-day conference program. These two hour sessions (plus 30 minutes for Q&A) are geared toward students and families, or anyone new to the space elevator concept.
Each session will include:
Concept overview and basic components of the system
Technical challenges, including space debris mitigation
Current state of carbon nanotube (CNT) research
Legal, political, and social issues
The space elevator's potential and impact on the future
And answers to any questions you may have
Each session is only $5 per person and includes a 14" x 22" Space Elevator Conference poster (cash or checks only, payable to SESI). Ages 12 and under are free, so bring the kids!
